A rainy day at home, baking homemade apple pie

Homemade apple pie on a rainy day at homeJust the other day we had grand plans to hang out downtown Bainbridge with friends who were coming over from Seattle. We were going to grab lattes, and take a long walk along the water. We managed to enjoy the Bainbridge boardwalk for a quick minute, but part way into our walk the rain came and it came in full force! I’ve grown up in Washington my whole life, so I am accustomed to the rain. But on this particular day we were not ready for the downpour. None of us were wearing hoods, or even raincoats! And as a self respecting Washingtonian, I do not own an umbrella. So we decided to head back to home and get dry.

We toweled off, and I let my crazy hair air dry. To get extra warm I decided to bake a mile high apple pie! Nothing warms you up like something made with love; especially when it’s fresh out of the oven! Have you ever had a day like this? A day or changed plans or having a blast just staying in? Hope you enjoy rainy days at home as much as I do!
