Years ago when I lived in Seattle, visiting Pike Place Market was one of my favorite ways to spend the morning. Yes, even locals love the market! Now that I live a ferry boat ride away, I find myself visiting Seattle less and less. When I commuted to the city as an ER nurse, I would spend the entire day at the hospital, and those 12 hour shifts don’t allow for much time to explore the city. So it had been awhile since I had the pleasure of strolling through downtown.

My favorite things to do at Pike Place have remained the same over the years. I love to grab a warm latte from Le Panier, then make my way down to Piroshky Piroshky for their out of this world fresh rhubarb treat. THEY ARE HEAVEN! Then I would wander through the various vendors and of course pick up some flowers. They have the laregest, most gorgeous blooms for the best prices. I would then take a few too many samples from the Chukar Cherries gals before heading home. Black Forest is still my favorite! Oh the simple, pre-baby life.

Needless to say, I had a fun time wandering through the market again with my girlfriend Jesse. We were surprisingly baby free, and had the best day exploring without strollers! Jesse even took me on a birthday lunch to Boka when it started to snow. It was a girls day to remember!

There’s something so fun about being a tourist in your own city. Jess and I both vowed to do it more often, and I hope you will to! What’s your favorite Pike Place spot? Let me know in the comments!
