Here is this year’s family Christmas card from my favorite design hub, Minted. I love how Whitney Coudray Photography captured our family and most of all, how those photos helped us to share our joy through a simple card. Our shoot at a local Christmas Tree Farm was what Christmas dreams are made of! I know the holidays can feel stressful for many of us. But sending and receiving holiday cards is one of my favorite traditions of this season. I read every card we receive and feel such warmth from them. I suppose this is my little way of sending you all a Christmas card.
Wishing you blessings and joy on this wonderful holiday. Merry Christmas to all!
My most favorite holiday of the year is quickly upon us! There is something about this time of year that makes me nostalgic like no other season does. When I was a girl we would make thumbprint cookies with my mom and all argue over whose turn it was to pick out the Christmas tree this year. Then we would blast the Christmas music and all decorate together. Just last year Julian began to take his first steps right in front of our Christmas tree, a memory I’ll never forget. And I managed to give Jeff the best gift ever, by wrapping up 4 hand painted ornaments, “Jeff, Heidi, Jules and Baby.” It was quite the Christmas Eve surprise for my Captain! We told both of our families the next day at Christmas dinner.
I can already feel the memories of this years holiday seeping into the season. Ones I’m sure to recall in future Decembers. Inez mesmerized at the twinkling tree lights, as she unravels a ribbon from a present. Julian exclaiming “lights on!” every time he sees our tree. Jeff asking repeatedly why the kids need matching Christmas pajamas.
This Christmas photoshoot will forever be one of the holiday memories that I can’t let go. I had originally wanted to wait until Christmas to share with you all our photos. But I just couldn’t wait any longer. We had the pleasure of shooting with Whitney Coudray Photography right here on beautiful Bainbridge Island. We shot at a local Christmas Tree Farm, and the results, as you can see, are pure Christmas joy!
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas, with memories to last a lifetime!
There’s no place like home for the holidays! I wanted to share a few snapshots of our home during this Christmas season. Last year I went all out, but this year with the two babies I have been forced to slow down a bit more. And I can’t say that I mind! We’ve been busy decorating and listening to Jingle Bells on repeat. It’s Julian’s favorite, and he asks for it all. day. long. And I just can’t deny the man his favorite song!
I like to create cozy spaces in our home, like my little Christmas window nook. It’s so fun how a simple wreath, or a holiday candle can transform an everyday space. I also wanted to give Julian’s room a little Christmas spirit this year now that he is older. He was so thrilled to see that wreath in his room! Every time I put him down for bed he points it out and says “Julian’s wreath!” When he sees our Christmas tree first thing in the morning it’s “lights on! Star on it! Ornaments!” The joy of Christmas through the eyes of a child is pure magic.
How do you style your home for the holidays? I’d love to know! Leave me a comment below!
Can hardly believe Christmas is right around the corner! Gifts for the home are always at the top of my list. I know that every time I use our beautiful salad bowl (very similar to the one linked above), I think of my dear friend Joanna who gifted it to me. I like to think that all gifts can carry sentiments towards the giver. That’s why gifting for someone’s home can be so fun. Plus, you don’t have to worry about sizes, hehe.
These are a few of the items I am eyeing for Christmas gifts this year. And a few I’ve already picked up for some lucky friends. Michael Buble’s “The More You Give (The More You Have)” had shopping in mind right?
The big day is almost here! Just when I think I have everything in order at our house, I realize that I forgot stocking stuffers completely. I even forgot a stocking for the dog. On it’s way now! So, if you’re anything like me, you need some last minute gift ideas for the little one in your life. I am LOVING this idea of matching PJ’s and a bedtime story. What kiddo wouldn’t absolutely be tickled by these? If I didn’t already own several of these books I’d have to get the pair. But in case you don’t, be sure to snag these up, they are sure to sell out.
I included a few gifts in here that we already own and are tried and true staples in our home. The Strider bike (a must), the tool bench (hours of entertainment) and the art easel (creativity that doesn’t end up on your walls). And that tractor has been on my list for about a year! Can you say toddler heaven?
Is all of your shopping complete? Any stocking stuffer ideas for me? Or children’s books you grabbed for the littles in your life? Those are the last things on my list, send me ideas!
Seeing the joy of the holidays through a child’s eyes is pure magic. Teaching Julian about Christmas and the winter season has brought so much excitement for me about the upcoming holiday. We are in full holiday swing at our place, and a huge part of that has been pulling out all of our holiday books for the kiddos.
All of these books are ones that are sure to warm the hearts of adults and children alike. Julian is partial to Little Blue Truck’s Christmas right now, because he loves how the Christmas tree lights up on the last page! And I love that it teaches him to count along throughout the pages. Dream Snow is another beautiful choice that is great for counting and learning about animals. Plus, it’s a lift the flap!
One of the prettiest tales, The Message of the Birds, also has the most powerful message. It is a message of peace and how children can help to spread that message and bring us peace on earth. But of course, no list is complete without the classic poem of The Night Before Christmas. I bought this copy one Christmas to read to my future children before I had even become a mother. I know that sounds crazy, I know! It is just one of those books that has that power to become an instant family tradition and hold endless holiday memories. And I couldn’t wait to create those moments with my own family someday.
I hope that these books bring the joy of the season into your homes and into your children’s eyes. It really is the most wonderful time of the year!
