A Trip to the NW Coast

Jeff and I both grew up camping, and couldn’t wait to take baby Julian on his first camping trip. Well, I should say, Jeff couldn’t wait. I could have. I knew I wanted to take him eventually, but at 9 months I wasn’t sure how the trip would play out. Well, our first camping trip as a family of three (four including pup!) was a huge success! Jeff made sure I felt like I was “glamping,” not camping, Julian slept like a champ and him and the pup loved playing on the beach. We cooked over the fire, played in the surf, and went on the most breathtaking hike. Hike post coming soon! It was the stuff Pacific Northwest dreams are made of.

Neah Bay is a small town located at the northwest tip of Washington and the continental US. It is home to the Makah Tribe and has a beautiful museum where you can learn more about the tribe and their history. The scenery on the coast is simple stunning. Sandy beaches, epic sunsets, lush trees, and even a few hot surfers like my husband 😉 If you’re not feeling like camping in a tent, they have quaint cabins available. We usually do this in the winter time when visiting.

Are you a camper? Have you ever camped at Neah Bay? It is one of our favorite spots. Let me know if you visit!

Heidi

    1. It’s so beautiful there! We tent camped just back from the beach. It’s called the “Hobuck Beach Resort” it includes tent and RV camping and then the coziest cabins.

  1. We love Neah bay! We were out there a few weeks ago with our 5 month old. My husband loves the surf and we usually have a group of friends that drive their surfer vans out for the weekend. So fun!
